Mediagate MG-700DVR

$160.00 Released May, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Natively supports virtually all video formats - .avi and .mov content is played back with minimal lag and full-quality rendering. Excellent for travel purposes - users can store and access over 300 full-length movies in 1080p HD with the 1TB hard drive option.

The Cons:Cannot be configured under NTFS - default security features may work at first, but will ultimately halt boot-up and potentially damage files. Manual is confusing and awkwardly laid out - direct japanese-to-english translation is evident. Wireless connectivity is very difficult to configure - many users are unable to synchronize Wi-Fi capabilities, making the unit wired-only.

Some users report total unit malfunction within only months of use - drive may cease to power on after loading in a large amount of video content

MAC is 00:11:22:33:44:55 which makes DHCP not work in many cases
