In addition, the LinkTheater is capable of handling image formats such as JPG, BMP, PNG, and GIF. Unfortunately, the LinkTheater HD does not come with a Wi-Fi compatible extender that supports DivX and Xvid streaming like its competitor, the Slingbox SOLO. Rather, the LinkTheater HD is limited to a 10/100 LAN port, although its upgraded counterpart, the Buffalo LinkTheater Wireless, does include wireless access. Despite its faults, the Buffalo LinkTheater, however, does feature access to USB, DLNA, WMC, and SMB content sources, not to mention automatic plug and play setup by just plugging the device into a USB outlet. All in all, the Buffalo LinkTheater HD is regarded as a “device that brings true flexibility to digital content sharing and delivery.”
